Neuro-inclusive sport

This session, led by the Scottish Women's Autism Network (SWAN) will explore what it means to be autistic, looking at differences in communication, sensory experiences, how we connect and interact, allocate attention and other important aspects of autistic identity.

We will then relate this to sport, drawing on our expertise and lived experience we will consider inclusive planning and practice, barriers to engagement, and key practical considerations.

SWAN is proud to be autistic led and training is delivered by autistic professionals, and informed by the experiences of autistic women and non-binary people

ADHD Awareness training offers an easily digestible overview of ADHD and sensory processing issues as well as providing simple approaches and strategies that can be adapted into the delivery of activities to make sports clubs and after-school activities more inclusive to children with ADHD.
 
Delivered by ADHD Perth.
 

Disability Inclusion

Scottish Disability Sport has also created an online introduction to inclusive practise. 

The course is designed for anyone who is interested in working more inclusively with participants with disabilities. and is designed for anyone who is interested in working more inclusively with participants with disabilities. 
It takes around an hour to complete and can be completed in stages if you prefer.

UKCoaching has a Duty to Care digital toolkit and digital badge that will equip coaches with the knowledge and skills to provide great coaching experiences to others, as well as support coaches to begin to better look after themselves.

There are five pillar modules to work through - safeguarding / diversity / inclusion / mental health / wellbeing
