Booking a Fitness Class

The Live Active App, available from both the App Store and Google Play, is the preferred method to book fitness and wellbeing classes at any Live Active Leisure venue. This benefit is open to both Fitness Members and pay as you go customers.

  • Members can book any fitness and wellbeing class included in their monthly membership fourteen (14) days in advance.
  • Pay as you go customers who have a Live Active Card can book seven (7) days in advance, and those without either can only book on the day of the class.
  • Pay as you go customers must pay at the time of booking to ensure that their space is reserved; if the transaction is not complete then the booking will be cancelled automatically after 20mins. Live Active Leisure accepts all major credit and debit cards.

Confirmation of Booking and Checking-in

Once a booking has been made online an automated email will be sent to you confirming your booking (please retain this for reference). Please do not reply to the automated email. If you book on the app, you will receive a notification confirming your booking (please ensure push notifications are enabled on your device). You can also view booked classes within the ‘Manage My Bookings’ section. If you have any queries regarding bookings made, then please contact the relevant venue.

All customers must check-in on arrival to record their attendance at their pre-booked class. Where an access gate or card scanner is present in a venue, these should be used to record your attendance. In venues without an access gate or scanner, customers must report to reception.

If you are a member or Live Active card holder, you must check-in with your Live Active card or fob. At Dewars Centre, you can also use the app barcode, however, please note that the app barcode is for the gym gates only and cannot be used to check in for classes in Studio 2 (upstairs).

Cancelling a Fitness Class

To ensure fair access to classes, we ask customers to cancel as early as possible, with a minimum 2-hour notice period to allow others to book the space. The app sends reminders 24 hours and 3 hours before your class, making it easy to cancel in time if needed.

For Fitness Members:
If you need to cancel a class, you must do so at least 2 hours before the class starts.

We monitor members who fail to attend a booked class and operate a "three-strike" rule to help reduce no-shows. If you miss three booked classes in 30 days, without cancelling, your ability to pre-book classes will be paused for 14 days. During this time, you will still be able to book in-person on the day, but any pre-booked classes within those 14 days will be cancelled.

For Pay As You Go Customers:
If you need to cancel a class, you must do so at least 2 hours before the class starts. No refunds will be issued, however, if you cancel your class more than 2 hours before the start time you will have the option to move your booking to another class. Please call the venue where the class is taking place to do this. If you call less than 2 hours before the class starts you will not be permitted to move your booking.

Fitness Class Waiting Lists

If a class is full, you can join the waiting list; this is still worthwhile even if you see a high number of people on the list. When a space becomes available, all waiting list members are notified, giving everyone an equal chance to book.

To join a waiting list simply press ‘BOOK’ on a full class on the app.

Arriving in Time for your Class

Please check in at reception or an access gate at least 5 minutes before the class starts. This will allow enough time to get the studio and prepare for your class. If you arrive late at reception, you will not be permitted access to the class. Please always remember to bring your card or fob to check in.

Conditions of Use

If your membership is not up to date you will be charged the standard price for each class booking until your membership is paid. These charges will not be refunded once your membership has been paid.

Occasionally, classes may be cancelled or changes made to the class type, instructor, or location. Live Active Leisure reserves the right to do this at any time. While we will endeavour to provide advance notice of any changes, this may not always be possible.
