With a number of fitness and strength gyms throughout Perth and Kinross we’ve got everything from treadmills to squat racks, rowing to cable machines. Ensuring that you'll achieve your fitness goals in no time.
All of our gyms are included in your standard Live Active membership. Not a member, no problem you can still attend our venues on a pay as you go basis.
To get you started, you'll need a Gym Induction
If you are comfortable with the gym, opt for our quick online option or if if you're new to the gym we offer in person inductions at all our venues. You’ll get a tour, information on the right equipment for you, and a fitness plan to help get you started. Our friendly and qualified staff are always on hand to answer any queries you might have.

Gym Access Age Restrictions
Young people who are in S1 or are aged 12 – 15 years can access our gyms at any time if they are accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian based on a ratio of 1 adult to 3 young people.
Dewars Under 16 Gym Sessions
Our Under 16s Gym Sessions at Dewars Centre provide an opportunity for young people to attend the Fitness Gym independently, without needing to be accompanied by a responsible adult. Our dedicated Gym instructors are always on hand to offer advice, guidance, and support as needed.
These sessions have proved to be incredibly popular, and we are thrilled by the high demand. As a result, and on a trial basis, from Monday 21st April we will be increasing the capacity of some sessions to accommodate as many of our young fitness members as possible.
What you need to know
- Expanded Opportunities: More young people will be able to join our gym sessions during this trial period.
- Future Plans: If the trial is successful, we will consider increasing the capacity of all sessions or expanding the overall capacity for under-16s even further.
- Access Controls for Safety: Some of our access controls have been reviewed to ensure that the number of under-16s in the gym at any one time does not exceed the recommended supervisory ratios. This is to maintain the safety and wellbeing of all gym users.
- Age Specific sessions: 12–13-year-olds require additional supervision in the gym to 14 and 15-year-olds. Therefore, we are introducing age specific sessions to ensure that the right level of supervision is available. Participants will only be able to book the session appropriate to their age.
Session details
- Under 16s Gym sessions at Dewars Centre will be available at various times, seven days a week.
- At some times 12–13-year-old sessions and 14-15-year-old sessions will run at the same time.
- If you are attending independently without an adult, you must book into the session appropriate to your age.
- Customers will be permitted to access the gym five minutes before their booked session begins. Those attending the 12–13-year-old sessions should report to the Gym Office on arrival for briefing with the instructor.
- Sessions for under-16s are extremely popular and therefore booking in advance is recommended.
- All Gym sessions are booked by the hour; during busy periods, venue staff may need to enforce your booked time limit.
- Due to the popularity of these sessions, under-16s will be limited to booking one session per day.
Can't get booked in?
If you haven’t been able to get a space in our 12-13 or 14/15-year-old sessions, remember a responsible adult aged 18 or over, who has completed a gym induction can accompany up to two 12-15-year-olds in the gym at any time.
If you are attending in this way you must first report to the venue reception to gain access.
Important reminder
- Clean Equipment: Please clean all gym equipment after use, paying particular attention to frequently touched points, using the materials provided.
- Respect Adjacent Users: Be mindful of participants on adjacent equipment and avoid congregating in groups around any one piece of equipment.
- Appropriate clothing: Please wear appropriate indoor footwear and comfortable exercise clothing at all times. Jeans, boots, sandals, workwear, or school clothes are not permitted.
- Use of Lockers: Please use the lockers provided. Any items you bring into the fitness gym must be stored neatly and not interfere with walkways or the safe use of equipment. Bags and jackets are not permitted in the fitness gym.
- No Photography/Video Without Consent: Do not take photographs or videos in the fitness gym that include or identify another participant without their consent.
- Your membership is for You: Please do not allow other customers to use your Live Active card, fob, or barcode to access the gym barrier gates. Anyone found doing this will be denied access and may have their membership terminated
And remember, whilst the gym is a great place to meet and visit with friends, when you are on the gym floor your focus should be on exercising, we have spaces outside the gym or upstairs in the Café if you want to chat for a bit longer before or after your session.
