Young People Wanted to Shape the Future of Sport in Perth & Kinross

Young people across Perth and Kinross are being invited to make their voices heard through the Perth and Kinross Young People’s Sport Panel (YPSP) – an exciting initiative that puts youth perspectives right at the heart of local sport and physical activity.

Run by Live Active as part of its LEAD Sport programme, the panel represents the views, ideas and experiences of young people, helping to shape how sport is developed, promoted and delivered across the region.

Giving Young People a Seat at the Table

The YPSP has been created with a clear purpose: to ensure sport and physical activity in Perth and Kinross works for everyone. Panel members are encouraged to draw on their own experiences to help support and raise the profile of sport, use physical activity as a force for positive change, and break down barriers that prevent young people from getting involved.

By bringing together a diverse group of young people, the panel aims to reflect the real challenges and opportunities facing young people in sport today. Whether it’s access, confidence, inclusion or awareness, the YPSP exists to tackle these issues head-on.

More Than Just Meetings

Being on the panel isn’t just about sharing opinions – it’s about action. Members will have the chance to speak at events, work alongside key partners such as Sports Hubs, community groups and the local Sports Council, and promote and support local young sports people and events on social media. They will also help support the organisation and delivery of local sporting events.
