Cricket Development in Perth and Kinross
We deliver a variety of different cricket activities, engaging a range of people across Perth and Kinross.
Much of this sees us working in partnership with Cricket Scotland, Active Schools, and the wider Sports Development team within Live Active.
School Cricket Program
We aim to deliver to around three primary schools in each cluster, all year round. This approach allows us to:
- Build strong relationships with the schools we work with
- Create clear pathways for young cricketers to develop through:
- After-school cricket clubs
- Local cricket club membership
- Live Active cricket classes
Annual Competitions
Our primary school delivery culminates every year in the Primary Cluster Festivals, where schools compete against each other, with a pathway to the Cricket Scotland “Schools Week of Cricket” in June, which is held in Perth every year.
Inclusive Cricket Programs in Perth & Kinross
We deliver a programme of Table Cricket to Secondary School Intensive Support Provision (ISP) units across P&K, as well as to Fairview School. Table Cricket is a brilliant version of the sport, which is particularly well suited to people with complex physical and learning disabilities.
We deliver our “Super 1s” session, in partnership with Cricket Scotland every Monday. This session combines softball cricket and table cricket, and is specifically tailored to young people with a disability.
