Sport for Change

Sport for Change refers to using sports and physical activity as a tool to achieve wider social outcomes beyond just participation.
This includes addressing inequalities, promoting mental wellbeing, and improving communities. It’s a concept that recognises the potential of sport to positively impact individuals, groups, and society as a whole.
Sport for Change Grants
With up to £1000 per project available, the purpose of the funding is to start, or continue projects, that enable an inclusive and welcoming environment for all, alongside achieving a wider social outcome.
The Sport Development Team, in partnership with the Gannochy Trust is excited to bring this funding opportunity to our PACES clubs and Community Sport Hubs for a fourth year.
Sport for Change Network – Mental Health
Poor mental health is a public health challenge and significant mental health inequalities exist in Scotland.
The aim of our mental health network is to support clubs so that they feel confident to talk about mental health so that they can better support their members, coaches and volunteers.
Sport for Change Network – Women in Sport
PACES data shows that more than double the number of adult men take part in club sport, compared to women (2527 men compared to 1183 women).
The aim of the women in sport network is to support clubs to develop more female athletes, attract more women to take part and support more women to coach or volunteer in sport.
