Summer of Sport Club and Community Sport Hub Grants
Live Active Leisure, in partnership with sportscotland, has awarded funding to twelve PACES* Clubs and two Community Sport Hubs through Summer of Sport funding.
Following confirmation of the Scottish Government Budget in February 2026, sportscotland allocated Local Authority partners a one-off, single-year investment for the ‘Summer of Sport’.
Perth and Kinross Council received £323,000 to invest in accessible sporting opportunities for children and young people across the area from the Summer and through to March 2027. This included a Sports Club and Community Sports Hub offer of funding to support the delivery of club/hub activities within local communities.
The aim of the funding is to provide free, targeted or reduced cost activities and events designed to maximise engagement and address barriers to participation.
PACES Clubs and Hubs were invited to present ideas to encourage young people aged 3 to 26 (particularly those facing disadvantage) to get active, stay active, and enjoy the benefits of physical activity. Grants of up to £2,500 were available for supporting summer activity or for a longer period of engagement.
Twelve Clubs and two Hubs were successful in receiving a share of £30,000.
Sport Development Officer Gemma Simpson said:
“We are delighted to award 14 grants to our successful PACES Clubs and Hubs. Having funding from sportscotland allows us to work more closely with our fantastic club volunteers from across Perth and Kinross. The majority of the projects will support families and enable increased participation across a range of sports. We are looking forward to activities getting going throughout the summer, and beyond!”
