Summer of Sport
Following confirmation of the Scottish Government Budget in February 2026, sportscotland has allocated Local Authority partners a one-off, single-year investment for the ‘Summer of Sport’.
Perth and Kinross Council will receive £323,000 to invest in accessible sporting opportunities for children and young people across the area from the Summer and through to March 2027.
We are excited to be playing a key role in shaping activity plans with the Council, working alongside partner organisations to deliver a collaborative and well-coordinated programme.
What's Happening in Perth & Kinross
- Free Under 16 Swimming
Every day throughout the Perth & Kinross October school holidays, anyone under 16 can swim free at all Live Active pools:
- Perth Leisure Pool
- Live Active Loch Leven
- Live Active Strathearn
- Live Active Blairgowrie
- Breadalbane Community Campus
Advance booking is not required for swimming sessions, however swimming times vary, so please check the venues timetable prior to visiting for up-to-date times.
- Free Family Sportshall
From Saturday 4th July, families can enjoy free weekend sportshall sessions, featuring activities such as badminton, basketball, pickleball, short tennis and boccia.
These sessions will run every weekend (selected time slots) through to Sunday 28th March 2027 at:
- North Inch Community Campus
- Loch Leven Community Campus
- Live Active Strathearn
- Live Active Blairgowrie
- Breadalbane Community Campus
Sportshall sessions can be booked online or via the Live Active app up to 7 days in advance.
Please note: North Inch Community Campus sessions are listed under Dewars Centre in the app.
- Targeted Holiday Provision
Activities designed to support children and families who will benefit most during the school summer holidays.
- Club Funding
Opportunities for sports clubs to apply for funding to deliver activities within their own communities.
Terms & Conditions
Swimming
- Any child under the age of 16 is eligible to access free swimming.
- Child admission policy applies. Read policy here.
- Under 16 offer is available at all Live Active swimming pools.
- Offer valid until 17/08/26.
- Offer available to both residents and non residents of Perth & Kinross.
- No booking required. Perth Leisure Pool can be very busy during school holidays and if we reach capacity, customers may experience a short wait.
- Please check venue swim timetables for public swimming times.
- Last admission is 1 hour prior to the stated closing time.
Sportshall
- Limited slots available on Saturdays and Sundays only.
- Each venue may offer slightly different session times. Customers should check the individual venue for details.
- Sessions must be booked in advance.
- There is no minimum or maximum number per session.
- Sports are limited to Badminton, 3v3 basketball, Boccia, Pickleball and Short Tennis.
- This offer is valid until 28/03/27.
- Offer available to both residents and non residents of Perth & Kinross.
- Live Active customers can book up to 7 days in advance.
- Non account holders can book on the day.
