No matter where you are in your fitness journey - just starting out, preparing for a competition, or somewhere in between; choosing the right equipment can make all the difference.

Dewars Centre is one of Perth’s largest state-of-the-art gyms; where you’ll find over 100+ pieces of premium Matrix fitness equipment designed for functional training, strength, resistance, and cardio workouts. From cutting-edge treadmills, bikes, and ascent trainers to ski ergs, Olympic lifting bars, free weights, sleds, and much more, we have everything you need to crush your fitness goals.

In addition, we also offer the revolutionary Go Series equipment which provides the perfect starting point for those looking to dip their toes into the world of strength and circuit training. With minimal adjustments, low starting weights and smaller progressions, anyone can quite simply sit and go!

Gym Opening Hours:

Monday – Friday: 06:30 – 22:00

Saturday & Sunday: 08:00 – 17:00

Gym Quiet Hours:

We also have dedicated quiet times in the gym for anyone who prefers a calmer, low‑noise environment. During these times there will be no music or loud classes, creating a more peaceful space for your workout.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 14:15 – 15:30

Saturday: 16:00 – 17:00

Gym Induction

To get started, you’ll need a Gym Induction. If you are comfortable with the gym, opt for our quick online option.

Alternatively, if you’re new to the gym we offer an in-person induction. You’ll get a tour, information on the right equipment for you, and a fitness plan to help get you started.

Our friendly and qualified staff are always on hand to answer any queries you might have.

All our gyms are included in our standard Live Active membership.

We have 3 fitness class spaces – a large, designated fitness studio located in our gym, a gym floor space which utilises gym equipment and a smaller upstairs studio, perfect for our cycling and mind and body classes.

Booking

Some of our classes are very popular and we encourage all customers to book in advance. Some classes operate a waiting list. Those who have booked via the app will receive a waiting list notification if a space becomes available. Please note this is on a first- come first- served basis.

All our fitness classes are included in our standard Live Active Fitness membership.

Not a member, no problem you can still attend our venues on a pay as you go basis.

Ice Skating Disco

Looking for something different to do in Perth? Lace up your skates and join us for an unforgettable Ice Skating Disco! These fun events take place regularly throughout the skating season.

Learn to Skate

Enhance your Ice Skating skills with our Learn to Skate classes, led by qualified instructors who specialise in teaching the fundamentals of ice skating. Perfect for beginners aged 5 – 17, our classes cater to those stepping onto the ice for the first time and to skating enthusiasts looking to sharpen their skills.

Our program follows the National Ice Skating Association curriculum, offering a well-structured session split into two parts: 30 minutes of focused instruction on skating techniques and 30 minutes of practice time to reinforce your new skills.

So, whether you’re looking to learn or improve, our Learn to Skate classes provide a fun and supportive environment for all!

Wellbeing Activities

The Live Active Wellbeing Team support everyone in the community to be more active, more often.

Our Referral and Cardiac sessions are tailored to those with medical conditions who find it difficult to exercise. These sessions take place most weekdays and give customers the opportunity to improve their physical and mental health, in order to see long term changes to health or medical condition. 

The sessions are structured for the individual and are led by a qualified instructor who is always on hand to offer guidance and motivation.   

If you think Activity Referral is for you, then please speak to your GP or Health Practitioner for a referral.

Conferences & Events

Here at Dewars Centre we know that the key to a successful business meeting or conference is great planning and stress-free delegates! 

For over 25 years, we have been a part of Perthshire’s conference and event marketplace, and we pride ourselves on having built a reputation for quality, service and excellence.

Our Strathmore Hall (ice hall) is available to hire during the months of April, to August each year for large scale events, conferences, and exhibitions.

In addition to this we have a meeting room suitable for up to 60 persons, which has media projector and sound system for microphone and speakers.

Whether you’re stopping by for a light lunch, craving a sweet treat, or simply need a cozy cup of tea or coffee, we’ve got something to delight every palate.

Our menu is packed with a variety of options, including gluten-free. Choose from comforting soups, freshly made sandwiches, juicy burgers, hot filled rolls, paninis and loaded fries and more. Visit Lang’s Café today to treat yourself to great food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Saturday: 10:00 – 15:00

Sunday: Closed

On weekends the opening times will vary depending on the venue’s events schedule. Times will be updated weekly on the Lang’s Foods Facebook page.

  • Ramp access to the main entrance
  • Accessible access point in the underground car park with lift access to the building
  • Hearing/induction loop system in the Muirhead Suite
  • 15 accessible car parking bays: 10 at the bottom of the Perth Leisure Pool ramp and 5 in the underground car park
  • 3 accessible toilets
  • Some gym equipment can be used the wheelchair users and people with low mobility
  • Adapted curling delivery sticks for wheelchair users and people with low mobility
  • Dedicated quiet times in the gym with no music or loud classes: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 08:15-09:30; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 14:15-15:30; Saturday 16:00-17:00 and Sunday 08:00-09:00 & 16:00-17:00
  • ASN ice skating and curling sessions (seasonal September – April)
  • 2 accessible changing rooms
  • Evacuation chair for use in an emergency

Exciting Holiday Programmes for Kids and Teens – Easter, Summer, and October!

Looking for fun-filled activities to keep your kids entertained during the holidays? Our holiday programme, available during Easter, Summer, and October, offers an incredible range of activities for children of all ages—from pre-schoolers to teenagers.

From football and gymnastics to aqua fun and battle active, there’s something to suit every interest and ability. Whether your child is a budding athlete or just looking to try something new, we have activities designed to engage and inspire!

At Dewars Centre, kids can join our Learn to Skate and Curling Camps, perfect for those looking to develop their skills or try a new sport.

Sessions will vary and customers are advised to check the programme for full details.

Dewars Centre Junior Gym

Junior Gym

We offer bookable gym sessions that allow young people aged 12 to 15 year olds supervised access to the gym.

These sessions take place from 16:00 – 21:00 on the hour.

Please note spaces are limited so must be booked in advance either online  or on our app under the class name ‘U16 Gym Session’.

There are three ways a young person aged 12-15 can access the Gym at Dewars:

  • With a responsible adult aged over 18, who is also permitted to use the gym.  Supervision ratio 1 Adult : 2 Young People
  • At the bookable 12 -13 year old or 14-15 year old Gym sessions.  These are subject to instructor availability but typically scheduled between 16.00 and 21.00 Monday to Friday during term time.
  • 14 – 15 year olds can attend unsupervised at the weekends, school holidays and in-service days.

Under 16’s are required to complete a Gym Induction with an instructor who will show them how to use the gym equipment. Under 16’s are limited to the use of fixed weights and cardiovascular equipment.

Cost:

All our gyms are included in our standard Live Active Fitness membership. 

Not a member? No problem you can still attend our venues on a pay as you go basis.
